Thanks for the kind words. I truly enjoyed my time working on these videos, and am proud of the segments Alex Lisowski, our sharp CHOW editorial advisers, and I put together. I think Pervaiz & Liza are doing a nice job, though, and wish them the best of luck.

I must have missed the announcement that the lovely Alex Van Buren was going to stop hosting the New York Chow report. I thought the new hosts were temporary stand ins until Alex came back but that was not the case. Good luck Alex, NY Chow report will never be the same.

I was wondering – would you be interested in visiting Cafe Glechik? http://glechik.com Just as with Badri, they don't speak much English, but the food is honest and delicious. I said I will help them to reach out to the world outside Brooklyn.

There are few other places here in Brooklyn with food you won't get anywhere else.

Dear Alex,

I am glad you are discovering the culinary wonders of our community. However, please show us- East Harlem/Spanish Harlem/El Barrio- the respect we deserve. If you are going to write about any establishment located east of Fifth Avenue, between 96th and 141st Streets, then please make sure to state that said establishment is located in East Harlem/Spanish Harlem/El Barrio, not Harlem. The physical gentrification (aka de-Latinizing) of our community is bad enough without being exorcised in print as well.

(Sorry for my poor english, I'm not native) I'm very cursious with the meaning of the sugar in this film. Before to play with the sugar cube, Lemontov puts a lot of sugar in a melon. And in another scene, when the girl is eating in a rehasal's break, she puts a lot of sugar in her juice. Maybe is a thing that the directors or someone related with the film has in his own character? In fact, the film is full of strange things... in my opinion, nothing is normal, all the characters are acting in a very strange style... all is very crazy, even from the beginning, in the fist scene... how the people speaks, very directy... What do you think about it???

And if you love the sugar cubes, Kieslowski in the film Blue has a scene very similar. The girl puts the sugar in de cup, only a corner... very slowly, and the white color, changes little to little...
